Visolela Rosa Namises is a renowned Namibian human rights and gender activist with a lifelong commitment to justice, equality, and healing. She joined SWAPO in the 1980s to fight for Namibia’s liberation but left in 1992, speaking out against silenced human rights abuses. As founding Director and Secretary General of the Namibian Congress of Democrats (COD), she served in Parliament for eight years, representing marginalized voices.

In 2011, Rosa stepped back from formal politics to focus on advocacy with Women’s Solidarity Namibia, a pioneering organization working to end violence against women and children. She is a sought-after public speaker, recognized nationally and internationally for her courage and vision.

Since 2012, Rosa has been an ambassador for the Global Eco-Village Network (GEN), advancing regenerative agriculture and sustainable living. Her projects across Namibia empower marginalized communities to improve food security, nutrition, and resilience.

She is also the founder and director of the Dolam Children’s Home in Katutura which has cared for over 250 children in a nurturing, family environment.

Born and raised in Katutura, Rosa Namises continues to be a tireless voice for human dignity, determined to lead all Namibians toward a more just, peaceful, and sustainable future.
