BIO Sally Kempton

Sally Kempton (January 15, 1943 – July 10th, 2023) was an author, a beloved spiritual teacher, and a lifelong student of the wisdom teachings of Kashmir Shaivism, a North Indian philosophy of tantric mysticism. She particularly focused, in her later years, on the school’s esoteric teachings and practices related to goddess worship.

She spent nearly five decades dedicated to sharing her vast compendium of knowledge, interpreting and presenting the ancient formal teachings of ashrams and sages/scholars to modern-day students in a language and format they could easily understand and apply to their daily lives.

Known for kindling meditative states in others, Sally’s teachings invite us into meditation as a process of inner exploration, in which we learn to integrate heart, mind, and body to experience our natural state of wisdom and love. Her work offers a wide variety of teaching materials including commentary on classic yogic wisdom and sacred texts. In addition, she offers contemplative practices for moving through psychological obstructions, understanding the intricacies of inner life, and how to apply spiritual principles to relationships, work, and life in our times.
