In 2009, he was elected Mayor of Guédé Chantier, a rural town of 9,000 residents in northern Senegal. During his tenure, he spearheaded efforts to transition the town into an ecocommunity. He later founded REDES (Network for Ecovillage Emergence and Development in the Sahel), which partners with governments, NGOs, and universities to develop ecovillage hubs across Senegal and along the Senegal–Mauritania border.

A founding member and former President of GEN Africa (Global Ecovillage Network Africa), Dr. Pame serves on the global GEN board and continues to coordinate international academic programs in Senegalese ecovillages. His work has earned global recognition, including the 2023 Hildur Jackson Award, honoring outstanding contributions to the ecovillage movement.

Dr. Pame is a bridge-builder between indigenous knowledge, civic leadership, and global sustainability. His vision fosters hope, resilience, and regenerative development throughout the Sahel and beyond.
