BIO Imelda Almqvist

Imelda Almqvist is an international teacher of Sacred Art, Seiðr, and Old Norse Traditions. As a painter, author, and educator, she bridges the worlds of spirit and creativity. Her work is rooted in shamanic principles, creating spirit-led paintings that reflect her lifelong experience of walking between worlds. Imelda’s art appears in private collections, on book covers, and in sacred spaces around the globe.

She has written ten books, including both non-fiction and children’s titles, and is the creator of The Green Bear Series. Her passion for nurturing the spiritual lives of children led her to develop Time Travelers, a pioneering shamanic program for young people. Imelda also founded Pregnant Hag Teachings, her online school where she shares courses on sacred art and ancient traditions.

She teaches in the UK, Sweden, Greenland, and the U.S., and was featured in the Smithsonian Channel’s Mystic Britain in the episode Ice Age Shaman. Originally from the Netherlands, Imelda trained in art therapy in the UK and has studied with renowned shamanic teachers worldwide.

Now based in London, she divides her time between teaching, writing, painting, and offering individual healing sessions—while still finding time to play the cello and sail with her family.
