KUNDALINI COLLECTIVE

Kundalini Collective Co-founder
Sameer Patel Filmmaker | Writer | Producer

Sameer Patel is a London-based independent filmmaker, writer, and producer. Following his own spontaneous Kundalini awakening in 2006, he became deeply interested in non-ordinary experiences, spiritual awakening, consciousness, trauma, and the ways in which personal transformation can reshape culture.

In 2018, he co-founded the Kundalini Collective, a peer support community for people navigating Kundalini awakenings, mystical experiences, and profound inner change. The community has since grown into a space for dialogue, education, and support around experiences that are often misunderstood or pathologised.

Sameer’s current project, The Elephant, is a documentary series exploring what happens when ordinary people wake up to a reality larger than the one they were told. Through interviews, personal stories, and cross-cultural wisdom traditions, the series asks how spiritual awakening, science, psychology, and collective transformation might be brought into conversation.

His films have screened at international festivals including Palm Springs. His documentary Black Star, about African American voluntary repatriation to Ghana, has been viewed over a million times. As a producer, he has also completed his first feature film, The Bitter Tears of Zahra Zand. Sameer’s wider mission is to raise awareness of non-ordinary experiences and their implications for healing and the nature of reality.
