Satish Kumar is a world-renowned peace and environmental activist, author and international speaker whose work explores deep ecology and the interconnection of all living beings. A former Jain monk and nuclear disarmament advocate, he is best known for the two-and-a-half-year peace pilgrimage he undertook with a companion to Moscow, Paris, London and Washington, D.C.—a journey of more than 8,000 miles. Satish is the founder of the Resurgence Trust, Schumacher College, and the Small School. He served for more than 40 years as editor of Resurgence & Ecologist and is now its editor emeritus.
