Aya Khourshid Environmental Justice | Policy Researcher | Strategist

Aya Khourshid is an Egyptian-Palestinian strategic finance consultant and independent climate and social researcher working at the nexus of investment, post-growth economics, and grassroots organizing. With over six years of experience in strategic finance, venture building, and development advisory, she has supported high-impact ventures across the MENA region and Africa, including work with Ernst & Young, Pure Harvest Smart Farms, and FSD Africa—leading initiatives in due diligence, capital raising, and financial ecosystem building.

Now focused on systemic transformation, Aya dedicates her work to reshaping dominant economic narratives and advancing just, alternative models that center both people and the planet. She currently serves as the Coordinator of the Global South Circle within the International Degrowth Network (IDN), contributing to strategy, coalition building, and dialogues for a post-growth future rooted in justice and equity.

Aya is actively engaged in multilateral spaces like the UN climate negotiations (COP28, SB60, COP29, and COP30), advocating for Global South and Indigenous voices. Through the RiseTogether initiative, she also supports local community efforts in Sinai, Egypt, promoting water conservation and sustainability. A strong advocate for debt cancellation and international financial reform, Aya’s work bridges finance, climate, and grassroots change for systemic impact.
