Daniel Christian Wahl

Daniel Christian Wahl is one of the catalysts of the glocal return to bioregional regeneration and the author of Designing Regenerative Cultures, which has been translated into 10 languages. He works internationally as a consultant, educator, and activist in regenerative design, whole systems design, and transformative innovation. With degrees in biology and holistic science, and a PhD in Design for Human and Planetary Health, his work has influenced both regenerative and salutogenic design fields.
He collaborates with NGOs, businesses, governments, and bioregional change agents to support the transition toward regenerative cultures. Daniel is also the co-host of the ReGeneration Rising – Coming Back to Life podcast and was awarded the RSA’s prestigious Bicentenary Medal in 2021 for his contribution to regenerative design.
He is a father and the steward of a Regenerative Food Forest research site adapted to the Mediterranean climate.
Daniel has been linked to the Global Ecovillage Network for over 20 years. Since 2007, he has worked closely with Gaia Education, contributing to the development of their Design for Sustainability online course and co-authoring all four dimensions of the curriculum, which now forms the foundation of a new MA and PhD program offered in partnership with Ubiquity University.
