Rama Mani
Performer | Peacebuilder | Bridgebuilder
Dr. Rama Mani is a visionary performance artist, peacebuilder, and global systems thinker dedicated to creating a regenerative and inclusive future for all life on Earth. She is the Co-Founder of the Home for Humanity movement and the One Home UnivEARTHsity, initiatives co-led with her husband, Professor Alexander Schieffer, to catalyze planetary regeneration through education, creativity, and community-building.
Rama is the creator of the Theatre of Transformation, an original artform and methodology developed from over 30 years of experience in peacebuilding and justice work across all continents. Her performances and academy have transformed global audiences and changemakers, bringing real-life testimonies of grassroots heroes into embodied, collective transformation.
Previously, she held leadership roles including Director of the Global Peace and Security Course at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy, Executive Director of the International Centre for Ethnic Studies in Sri Lanka, and Africa Strategy Manager for Oxfam GB. She co-founded Rising Women Rising World with Jean Houston and Scilla Elworthy.
Dr. Mani is a Councillor of the World Future Council, a Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science, and a member of the Evolutionary Leaders. Her academic background includes a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge and degrees from Johns Hopkins SAIS and Bryn Mawr College.
