Chief Phil Lane Jr Elder | Peacemaker | Leader

Hereditary Chief Phil Lane Jr. is an enrolled member of the Ihanktonwan Dakota and Chickasaw Nations and a globally respected Indigenous leader in human, community, and economic development. For over 55 years, he has worked across the Americas, Asia, Africa, and the Pacific, advancing holistic and culturally grounded development. He is the founder of the Four Worlds International Institute, a co-founder of the United Religions Initiative, and Chair of Compassion Games International.

A former Associate Professor at the University of Lethbridge, Chief Lane has been deeply involved in healing historic trauma, including Canada’s Residential School system. He has received numerous international awards, such as the Windstar Award and the Year 2000 Award for Freedom and Human Rights. His leadership has helped foster international Indigenous treaties, the Reunion of the Condor, Quetzal, and Eagle, and the creation of Bioregional Marine Sanctuaries.

Chief Lane is dedicated to empowering the “Seventh Generation” of Indigenous youth and women, protecting sacred sites, and advancing environmental justice. His vision, rooted in traditional wisdom and digital innovation, continues to inspire movements for global unity, healing, and the protection of Mother Earth.
